Yes, all our clients are big-time liars when they talk to me for the first time.
In our first conversation on the phone...they do self-retrospection and after just 45 minutes of conversation...they realize that they are telling so many blatant lies to themselves!
They say...
I don't have enough experience for getting leadership roles.
I don't have what it takes to reach $300K to $500K incomes.
I have never been leadership role, why would anybody offer me a high position?
One can not grow a career without office politics and I don't want to do that.
If I get a higher position, I will lose my work-life balance.
I will fail if I take big roles.
If I take risks in life, my family's future will be in trouble.
I need to spend do an MBA, and spend $150,000 dollars to get ahead in my career.
Reading leadership books, and watching YouTube videos will give me a promotion.
If I work hard, my boss will notice it automatically and I will get promoted.
It's my boss's responsibility to make case for my career to top management.
Unless my boss retires or goes away, there is no room for me to grow.
My boss is not a good person, and I can't do anything about it.
I don't have the guts to reach out to skip-level and talk about my career.
Top bosses are tough, intimidating scary people.
Top bosses are busy people, they will never talk to me.

I see my college friends, colleagues already directors/VP...I don't think I have the communication skills that they have.
If I speak up in the meetings, I may make mistakes and people will see me as incompetent.
Finding a new job is a very hard, painful task.

I am in consulting company with visa restrictions and I must wait for a green card.
